Abstract

This article will present some notes on the possibilities and limits of archiving or cataloguing living cultural processes based on the experience of digitising the photographic archive Fortaleza de la Mujer Maya. Latin American visual culture studies and the functioning of the association based on dialogic and collaborative learning have been our paths to carry out this study.

Author Biography

Belén Romero, Universidad Miguel Hernández (España)

PhD in Art History from Universitat de València and member of SNI, CONACYT. She has worked as a researcher at Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas (UNAM, 2021-2023), carrying out research stays at Centro de Investigación de Estudios de Género (UNAM, 2012), and at the Art and Ecology Program, University of New Mexico (2013). Lecturer in Cultural Studies and Visual Arts (UMH). Member of the "Energy Humanities: Energy and socio-cultural imaginaries between the Industrial Revolution and the ecosocial crisis" project (CSIC).
